Pamela Zormelo is the Operations Manager of Mustek Bitumen. She has over a decade of experience in the fields of Financial Management, Corporate Management, Administration and Training Research. Recently, she has been involved in the restructuring and strategic planning for Mustek, where she also heads the Group Finance Team.
In her previous position as Treasury Manager of Anglogold Ashanti Ltd., Pamela liaised with relevant government departments and with local and international banks, to ensure that the group functioned legally and cost-effectively. Pamela also managed the group’s offshore cash by trading in currency and money market placements, as well as by managing inter-company loans.
Prior to this, Pamela held a Treasury Management post within Ashanti Treasury Services. In this role, she supported the Risk Manager; she trained staff on the use of new systems; prepared reports on management and annual returns; and organized Board Meetings. Pamela also set up and managed the Offshore Treasury Office on the Isle of Man, which involved the implementation of local procedure and the coordination of the activities of the Isle of Man Board with that of the main company’s Board of Directors.
In her role as Corporate Finance Division Back Office Administrator for Ashanti Goldfields Company Limited, Pamela gained experience in data processing; reconciliation of trade confirms with base records; remittance of trade confirms; and maintenance of counter-party exposure files. She is proficient in the use of the software’s Quantum and Integra, and she has valuable experience in the assessment of training program effectiveness.
Pamela is a highly organized, versatile and experienced manager whose attention to detail, sound understanding of markets and currency, and ability to pass on her knowledge to others, have enabled her to build a varied and successful career in the corporate world. She was a Founding Member and Treasurer of ‘Voice of Hope’, a charity set up to support educational development, entrepreneurship and good citizenship among the youth of the Isle of Man.
Pamela has a BA (Hons) in Economics and Psychology from the University of Ghana, and a Diploma in Management from Henley Management College, UK.
